Growing company in Los Angeles is looking for a sharp Controller with public accounting and private industry combined experience. The Controller shall be responsible for maintaining a financial record system in accordance with GAAP; coordinate and evaluate all financial reporting as directed by the CFO; standardize policy and procedures; provide various financial and non-financial reports; ensure compliance with all federal and state taxing and/or compliance authorities; conduct departmental effectiveness reviews; participate in the annual budgeting and planning processes; and assist the CFO on developing underlying assumptions for budgets and forecasts.
The Controller must also be experienced with managing highly-performing accounting work-teams with demonstrated capacity to assist with acquisition and integration endeavors.
Job Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be have a four (4) year degree in accounting or related field, minimum 5 years of work experience with some supervisory skills and have some experience with manufacturing/standard cost accounting. This person must have a proven track record with the ability to foster a cooperative team-oriented work environment; an analytical thinker; and provide consultative support to various other departmental managers.
The person must have their CPA or MBA, both preferred. Good common sense, a strong work ethic, self-motivation, a high level of integrity and excellent communication and technical accounting skills are required to be considered in this team-oriented production-driven culture.
